This champagne cover belongs to our collection: works of art. Indeed, the artist depicted on a pure silver 999/°° K-OVER a scene of the Dante’s Divine Comedy. In the year to come there will be 700 years since Dante’s death and in Florence there will be many events in his memory. To join the celebrations, we decided to reproduce a draw originally made by Gustave Doré. The cover portrays the giants being imprisoned because of their misbehaviour.
The cover has been completely handcrafted by Lorenzo Foglia, a Florentine master goldsmith. The production process took several months and the techniques used are overhang and chasing. The core value of the product is given by its artistic perfection. Indeed, the artist worked a single piece of silver and the complexity of the task was increased by the fact that the reverse side is missing. It is also important to underline the great attention in chiseling human bodies. In the future, it will be hard to find such a talented artist.
Artist information
Lorenzo Foglia, was born in Viareggio in 1971. He grew up in his family workshop, and still very young, started working there together with his father and grandfather. There, he studied the art of metalworking and learned embossing and chisel techniques. During his career he created furniture and jewellery for the Royal Houses of Europe, the theatre and cinema. He won twice the international competition “Art in a jewel”, promoted by Florence Gift Mart. He is President of the Silversmiths of the city of Florence and he is “Master Craftsman” recognized by Tuscany Region, “OMA Craftsman”, and “Master of Art and Craft” for the Cologni Foundation of Milan.
Recently, he has been working with K-OVER for the project: works of art. He signed all the champagne cover he chiselled.
