Melting Metal and Lamination

The design and production of each K-OVER are meticulously carried out in our factory, blending traditional and modern techniques. We source the highest quality, sustainable pure silver, gold, and bronze alloys for our expert craftsmen.

The process begins with melting solid blocks of silver, which are then laminated to the precise thickness needed for K-OVER sheets. This stage requires careful attention to ensure the perfect fit for the bottle, preventing damage and noise.

Creating the initial cylinder for the K-OVER wine cover was particularly challenging and took several months of study. This foundational design combines old-world craftsmanship with modern precision, resulting in a functional and elegant decorative wine cover.

Hand Metal Spinning

Chiseling and Embossing

Cesello, or chiseling, is the most commonly used technique for creating silverware, including our K-OVERs. The challenge in our process arises from the cylindrical shape of the cover. When the artist begins to work, the cover is closed, and all volumes must be crafted from the inside. This ancient technique, known as “Caccia in fuori,” involves embossing. The artist attaches tools to a special spring, presses the spring, and moves the tools to shape the metal from the inside.

Chiseling can also be done from the exterior of the K-OVER. Given its cylindrical shape and hollow interior, the casings are filled with pitch to provide a solid surface for the artist to work on. We use high temperature to insert and remove the pitch, this process doesn’t damage the casings and allows the artist to create any design, whether inspired by original drawings or copied from photographs.

Enamelling

At K-OVER, we specialize in creating exquisite bottle covers using the most sophisticated enameling techniques and the finest artists. Our enamels are made from tiny particles that we apply either as a dry powder or a wet paste.

Enameling small, chiseled surfaces is a delicate process that requires a highly skilled hand, and our artists excel in this precision work. Hand Engraving

K-OVER offers exquisite hand engraving for their covers, allowing clients to personalize with dates, names, or intricate designs. Utilizing the "bulino engraving" technique, which has its roots in Italy, each piece is crafted with a very sharp burin and free-hand drawing, requiring the utmost skill from the engraver.

Capable of replicating any design from photographs and drawings, K-OVER welcomes any challenge, ensuring each request is transformed into a stunning, bespoke work of art.

Diamond Surface

K-OVER offers a unique diamond effect, handcrafted by skilled metal artisans. Using a metal hammer, our silversmiths transform a polished surface into a rough texture that elegantly reflects light and resists fingerprints.

This exquisite finish was originally conceived to be applied to covers as a decorative element, but it stands out beautifully that it has become a decoration in itself. Part of K-OVER's offerings, it allows clients to choose from a range of materials such as gold, silver, or bronze and surface finishes, including glossy, matte, and the stunning diamond effect.

Gold Plating

K-OVER offers an exceptional gold plating service, providing an elegant and luxurious finish to their covers. While clients can choose covers made from pure gold, gold plating is an excellent alternative to achieve the same sophisticated effect. This process involves applying a thin layer of gold over the cover, whether it's silver or bronze, from the start or as an enhancement to previously made covers.
